The Reverbio project was part of the “P” learning task where we were supposed to create a toy thaht enables the teaching of a concept through the act of playing.
the Reverbio is an add-on that connects to toys and enables a recording of a sound we wish to attach to the toy (e.g. a ‘tweet tweet’ for a toy bird) and once pressing the connected add-on it makes the sound that was recorded. picture a small contraption that contains a mic and a speaker that can be connected to the toy…
the learning process here regards three of the basic sound principles:
1. loudness – the harder you press the contraption the louder the sound is.
2. timbre – which is the recognition of the sound created (that enables us to differ between a trumpet or a trombone for example, or the ability to recognize mom’s voice) – this will be represented by the sound recorded by the player.
3. pitch – this will be shifted by lifting the toy & contraption higher to make the pitch higher and vice versa.
